Solar-powered micro data centres
We plan to develop multiple smaller data centres supported by solar solutions. The aim is to place computing where locally generated energy and a useful destination for its waste heat can work together.
Our own UK cloud, built with the environment in mind. Practical hosting, compute and storage — with a bigger ambition: make the energy behind your technology work harder for the communities around it.
Cirrus is Tranquil IT’s own UK-based cloud platform. We bring the infrastructure and the people who run it together, so you can talk to our team about your applications, storage and the resources your business needs.
Environmental responsibility is part of how we design Cirrus, not an extra service. That starts with making productive use of the heat our infrastructure already creates.
Today, we reclaim waste heat from our servers to help heat our data-centre premises. Instead of treating that heat only as something to get rid of, we put it to work.
This is the principle behind our next stage: build cloud infrastructure around useful local energy relationships, bringing computing, renewable generation and heat demand closer together.

The following is our development roadmap, rather than a description of services already available at every location. Each new site will need its own energy, heating and delivery arrangements.
We plan to develop multiple smaller data centres supported by solar solutions. The aim is to place computing where locally generated energy and a useful destination for its waste heat can work together.
Our first planned expansion of heat reuse is to neighbouring businesses. We want the heat produced by cloud workloads to become a resource for local premises, rather than simply being discarded.
Longer term, we want to bring the same principle into home solutions. Residential heat reuse is a future ambition, following the work with local businesses; it is not a service we are offering today.
Alongside solar, our ambition is to use surplus wind-generated electricity from the grid when it is available. The aim is to support more useful demand for wind power, help reduce the need to curtail generation and contribute to a more balanced grid. This remains part of our planned energy approach, not a claim that Cirrus already operates a grid-balancing service.
Start with the workload, then choose the resources to suit it. Our team can help you plan a Cirrus setup and discuss moving existing services.
A UK home for your websites, applications and business workloads, with configurable server compute and memory.
Choose processor and memory resources around what your applications need, with room to adjust as those needs change.
ZFS-backed SSD storage for applications and databases where responsive access to data matters.
ZFS-backed magnetic storage for larger datasets and archive workloads. Speak to us about capacity, retention and a separate backup plan.
Explore our Sentinel price list, or talk to us about the compute, memory and storage that suit your workload. We can help you scope a new setup or plan a migration.
